Protecting roses during the winter.

The worse season for the roses is winter. If you want to make your plant alive during the winter you should keep your plant well protected. However, protecting the roses is not easy, but the most effective way to protect the roses is by burring them in the mulch and soil for most of the season. This is very important especially if the weather is getting very cold.

To do so, what you can do is to dig a trench. The trench itself should be enough to bury the high of the roses it elf. Put some mesh ring or a rose cellar around it. You can cover further with the organic mulch to protect the roses from the freeze. However there is a time when the weather is to cold, what you can do is by using the cone to cover the tips of the roses rather then using the mulch. You can use rose cone, but you have to take if off whenever the sky is cloudy. These to avoid the roses from shocked and get burn for the sudden light exposure from the sunlight. Once freezing is over you have to remove all the covering from the plants.
Rose protection from diseases.

Most roses that bred to day is design to become resistant for different type of roses diseases. However, you need to give constant care to avoid roses to get ill or defoliated. Pruning the roses could protect the roses from diseases. Remove all the dead bud and leave. Death and unhealthy cone need to be cut off. On the other hand exposing the soil to the sunlight, can also killing the insect that obviously make the roses healthier. Remove all the weed from roses so that the roses can grow healthily. Spraying program need to be done regularly to prevent infection such as black spot that often occur in roses.

Roses are definitely beautiful flowers, but in order to produce beautiful roses, constant caring is needed. It is very hard to keep the roses healthy, but nice looking flower will always become main attraction for many gardeners.
